PRESS RELEASE
The Minister of Forestry and Wildlife hereby informs economic operators of the timber sector involved in the trade of species listed in the CITES Appendices, as well as beneficiaries of services provided by the Ministry concerning amendments, extensions, renewals, and loss of CITES permits, that these applications result in the issuance of new permits with new numbers, stamps, and validity dates, replacing previous permits.
To this end, the aforementioned services are henceforth subject to the payment of the relevant fees, except where material errors are attributable to the Forestry Administration.
The Minister recalls that the issuance of any new CITES permit accompanied by a certificate of origin is subject to payment of the applicable unit rates currently in force, namely CFAF 1,000,000 and CFAF 50,000 respectively.
This measure takes effect as of June 8, 2026.
The Minister of Forestry and Wildlife hereby emphasises the importance of the strict enforcement of this measure and relies on the understanding and spirit of civic responsibility of the concerned economic operators.

Le Ministre des Forêts et de la Faune informe les opérateurs économiques de la Filière Bois intervenant dans le commerce des espèces inscrites aux annexes de la CITES et bénéficiaires dans son département ministériel des services relatifs aux modifications, prorogations, renouvellements et pertes des permis CITES, que les requêtes y afférentes s'inscrivent dans le cadre de la délivrance de nouveaux permis qui sont revêtus de nouveaux numéros, timbres et dates de validité, en lieu et place des anciens.
Par conséquent, les prestations susmentionnées sont dorénavant assujetties au paiement des frais y relatifs, à l'exception des cas d'erreurs matérielles imputables à l'Administration Forestière.
Le Ministre rappelle que, dans la perspective de délivrer tout nouveau permis CITES assorti d'un certificat d'origine, les prix unitaires applicables sont ceux en vigueur, soit 1 000 000 FCFA et 50 000 FCFA respectivement.
Cette mesure prend effet à compter du 08 Juin 2026.
Le Ministre des Forêts et de la Faune attache du prix à l'application stricte de cette mesure et compte sur la bonne compréhension et le civisme des opérateurs économiques concernés.
