COMMUNIQUE

Le Secrétaire de L'Ordre

The Bar Secretary

The Bar Secretary hereby informs Advocates and Pupil-Advocates that, following the webinar organized on 23rd February 2026 under the theme "Accounting and Taxation of Lawyers", a series of exchange and training sessions will be organized in the coming days in all Regions under the title: « Accounting and Tax Talks (ATT) for Lawyers ».

The objective of these sessions is to better equip and support lawyers in meeting their tax obligations under the Finance Law currently in force.

This initiative also seeks to strengthen advocates' skills in accounting and taxation, while highlighting their ability to master the accounting and tax mechanisms that are essential to the modern practice of the profession.

It is intended to serve as a framework for practical and educational exchanges aimed at facilitating a better understanding of tax requirements, promoting compliance, and showcasing the multidisciplinary expertise of members of the Bar. The sessions will include exchanges with tax authorities, with a view to addressing and curbing certain challenges experienced by advocates, such as automatic reclassification to the real taxation regime, among others.

In line with the provisions of the Finance Law of the Republic of Cameroon for the 2026 financial year, it is important that each advocate is classified under a taxation system that accurately reflects the reality of their professional practice or their professional development ambitions.

The practical arrangements and dates of these sessions shall be communicated in due course.

Done in Douala, on 27 February 2026.
