First, I would like to extend a warm welcome to you in this sumptuous setting and thank you for responding favourably to my invitation.
This reminds some of you that during my speech on February 17, 2022, in the prestigious banquet hall of the KRYSTAL PALACE hotel in Douala, 1 had the great honour of presenting the financing program of the Cameroonian Public Treasury for the 2022 financial year.
During my presentation on that day, I announced Cameroon's intention to return to the financial market to proceed with a Public Cllfor Public Security Issuance.
Ladies and Gentlemen Subscribers,
1t is, therefore, within the framework of the sacrosanct respect for the word given that it falls to me the honour to unveil here the sixth bond issue by Public Call for Savings of the State of Cameroon called "ECMR 6.25% net 2022-2029", in a context marked by the finalisation of the merger of the two financial centres of the CEMAC.
Before continuing my remarks, allow me to point out that this ceremony, which has become traditional, always offers me the pleasant opportunity to magnify the win-win partnership between the State of Cameroon and its network of investors. We have been building this robust, prosperous and fruitful partnership for eleven years, and we will have to consolidate it further.
Allow me to express my gratitude, together with that of the Cameroonian State, to the Government of the Central Bank and to the Central African Banking Commission, which accompanied us in obtaining a zero weighting on the public securities of the State of Cameroon.
This zero weighting offers us the opportunity to come together again today to contribute to the financing in part of the National Development Strategy 2030, which, as you know, is now the compass that will guide the Cameroon ship towards an emerging development in 2035.
