DEAR COLLABORATORS.

It is a real pleasure for me to take the floor once more here, on the occasion of this ceremony that marks the first solemn come together of the great Public Service family and its entry into 2017.

Permit me to begin by thanking you for your best wishes to me and my family, presented by the Secretary General.

From the report of the activities carried out in 2016 which has just been presented, I would equally like to express my encouragements for the efforts made despite many difficulties.

I would also want to heartily recognize those of our collaborators who, for years, worked with us and who, in the course of last year, went on a well-deserved retirement, after rendering long and loyal years of service to the Nation.

DEAR COLLABORATORS,

For the year which has just begun, the actions and measures to be carried out are inscribed in our 2017 road map, which provides notably:

As concerns the management of State employees and the modernization of our administrative system:

the planning and programming of recruitments;
the organization of recruitments into the Public Service;
the monitoring and assistance to government services in implementing the forecast management of the State human resources reference framework;
popularizing the handbook to represent the State before Law courts.

Furthermore, our efforts shall be geared towards:

translating and publishing the handbook on the conduct of reforms;
drawing up and popularizing output standards in the Cameroon Public Administration;

pursuing the drawing up of administrative procedures manuals or users’ guides in various government services;
continuing the dematerialization of administrative procedures;
translating and publishing the production of statistical information strategy.

To attain these objectives, we will ensure, through the support programme, that:

structures are adequately endowed with the infrastructures and equipment needed for their optimal performance;
the quality of expenditure be improved, just like the functioning and performance of all structures.

Moreover, as manager of the State human resources, we will continue to take an active part in the consultations dedicated to the resolution of various claims made by trade unions addressed to the Government.
