# PRESS RELEASE
THE MINISTER DELEGATE AT THE PRESIDENCY IN CHARGE OF DEFENCE HEREBY INFORMS:
Young Cameroonians, both male and female, who wish to pursue a career in the Defence Forces, that a pre-selection test for admission to the American Military Academies shall be organised in Yaounde.
A - CONDITIONS TO BE FULFILLED
- Be of Cameroonian nationality;
- Be at least 17 years old and not more than 23 years old on 01/07/2025;
- Be single and have no children in their care;
- Enjoy their civic rights;
- Be certified fit by a military medical doctor;
- Have a perfect command of the English language (reading, writing and speaking);
- Hold a Science Baccalauréat or GCE/AL with a pass in at least two subjects (Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry).
B - COMPOSITION OF THE APPLICATION FILE
- An A4 envelope bearing a 1,500 CFA francs fiscal stamp and the following handwritten information: first name and surname, date and place of birth, diploma, contact number and e-mail address;
- A handwritten application bearing a 1,500 CFA francs fiscal stamp, addressed to the Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Defence;
- A certified true copy of the birth certificate;
- A certified true copy of the GCE A/L or Baccalauréat certificate;
- A certificate of non-conviction issued by a competent authority (magistrate) not more than 03 months ago;
- A cardboard folder;
- A curriculum vitae;
- A certificate of celibacy;
- An information sheet to be obtained from the Department of Human Resources at the time of submission of the file.
Candidates shall pay a sum of 20,000 (twenty thousand) CFA francs against a receipt, representing the examination fees, to the Department of Human Resources of the Ministry of Defence.
C - WRITTEN TESTS
These shall be written exclusively in English on Saturday, 02 November 2024 at the General Leclerc High School (Lycée Général Leclerc), Yaounde at 7 a.m. Candidates shall write only in the following subjects: Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
D - SELECTION TESTS
The selection tests shall take place at the U.S. Embassy in Yaoundé from 21 November 2024 and shall involve only pre-selected candidates who must have undergone, at their own expense, medical fitness tests and the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).
To sit the SAT exam, candidates shall be required to register using the online address: https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/sat/register/international.
Complete application files shall be submitted to the Department of Human Resources of the Ministry of Defence not later than 3:30 pm on Thursday, 31 October 2024.
