PRESS RELEASE FROM THE CAMEROON BAR ASSOCIATION RELATING TO THE ILLEGAL PRACTICE OF THE LAWYER'S PROFESSION BY SOHAING Neil Sylvestre Brazza IN DOUALA
The President of the Cameroon Bar Association wishes to draw the attention of the corporation, the general public, and the relevant public authorities that, in flagrant violation of the law governing the legal profession in Cameroon, a certain SOHAING Neil Sylvestre Brazza has been illegally operating as a lawyer with professional residence in Douala-Akwa residence Kassap.
The Bar President reiterates that the lawyer's profession in Cameroon is strictly regulated by the law and that the Bar had since filed a complaint on June 7, 2023 before the State Prosecutor at the Littoral Court of Appeal in Douala to wit, "Information and Request for Urgent Intervention towards the prosecution of SOHAING Neil Sylvestre Brazza for illegal practice of the lawyer's profession, usurpation of office and title and for the purpose of shutting down an office opened by the said SOHAING Neil Sylvestre Brazza".
While the legal procedure prescribed for the sanctioning of such illegalities takes its course, the Bar President, on behalf of the Cameroon Bar Association, declines responsibility for all acts that the said individual/impostor in exploiting and the public, in disregard of judicial authorities, has performed or is yet to perform under the usurped title of a lawyer. Anyone dealing with the said impostor is or shall be doing so at his/her own risk.
