ORDER N° 021 /DPJ/SG/MJ/ of 12 FEV 2026 To fix the conditions for the Organisation, Date and Centre of the 2026 Session of the Examination to qualify as Advocate-in-Training.
THE MINISTER OF STATE, MINISTER OF JUSTICE, KEEPER OF THE SEALS,
MINDFUL OF the Constitution; MINDFUL OF Law No 90/059 of 19 December 1990 to organize practice at the Bar; MINDFUL OF Decree No 91/305 of 4 july 1991, to organize the Examination to qualify as Advocate-in-Training; MINDFUL OF Decree No 2011/408 of 09 December 2011 to organize the Government; MINDFUL OF Decree No 2011/410 of 09 December 2011 to form the Government.
HEREBY ORDERS AS FOLLOWS:
CHAPTER I: GENERAL PROVISIONS
Article 1: The 2026 session of the Examination to qualify as Advocate-in-Training shall be organized on 18 and 19 April 2026 in Yaounde.
CHAPTER II: ELIGIBILITY
Article 2: Candidates shall fulfill the following conditions: - Be of Cameroonian nationality; - Enjoy their Civic Rights; - Not be less than 21 years old on the date of the examination; - Hold a degree in Law or any other equivalent certificate.
Article 3: Candidates files shall comprise: - A stamped application; - A receipt of payment of the examination fee of CFA 10.000 issued by public treasury; - A certificate of nationality; - A copy of the birth certificate;

A certificate of non-conviction (Criminal Record Bulletin No 3) not more than three (03) months old; A letter of sponsorship from an advocate who has been practicing for at least five (5) years; A certified true copy of the certificate referred to in Article 2 above or proof of success. In any case, successful candidates shall be required to present the original of that certificate and a certified true copy thereof;
Article 4: Candidate's file shall be established in duplicate and submitted to the President of the Bar Council, no later than 16 March 2026
Article 5: (1) the Bar Council, upon verification of a candidate's file, shall forward a copy thereof to the Minister of Justice no later than 31 March 2026.
CHAPTER III: EXAMINATION COMMISSION
Article 6: The Examination Commission of the Exams to qualify as Advocate-in-Training comprise of a Jury and a Secretariat whose members are appointed by Order of the Minister of Justice.
Article 7: (1) The Jury shall comprise
- Chair: The President of the Bar Council or his Representative.
- Members:
- Two (2) Professors of Law;
- Two (2) Lawyers entered on the roll of practising lawyers in the Cameroon of at least five (5) years, designated by the President of the Bar Council.
- Two (2) Magistrates.
- (2) The members of the Jury shall designate one of its members as "Rapporteur"
