DECISION N°011/BOA/01/2023, APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE DEONTOLOGY COMMISSION OF THE CAMEROON BAR ASSOCIATION

THE PRESIDENT OF THE CAMEROON BAR ASSOCIATION,

MINDFUL of Law No. 90/059 of the 19th December 1990 to organize Practice at the Bar;

MINDFUL of Decision N°41/DPJ/SG/MJ of 12th April 2005 on the Internal Regulations of the Cameroon Bar Association;

MINDFUL of the Proceedings of the General Assembly of the Cameroon Bar Association of 19th and 20th June 2022;

MINDFUL of the General Directives of the Bar President on the functioning of the Bar Council;

MINDFUL of the necessity of service;

DECIDES AS FOLLOWS:

Article 1: Composed of ten sub-commissions established within the jurisdiction of each Court of Appeal, its mission shall be to observe all deviations in professional behavior and attitudes contrary to the Internal Rules and Regulations of the Bar, the code of ethics of the Bar and the customs of the profession.

In a general sense, it shall operate a database of all such acts committed by lawyers which shall be contrary to ethics and integrity of the profession and shall submit a quarterly report to the Bar Council for the appropriate use.

It is empowered to summon any lawyer whose behavior contravenes the code of ethics and professional conduct, and to address its observations to the lawyer in question within a confraternal context.

In serious cases, it shall refer the matter to the Bar President.

Article2: From the date of signature of the present Decision, the following Advocates are appointed to the Deontology Commission of the Cameroon Bar Association:
