The Minister for Forestry and Wildlife, Jules Doret Ndongo, informs the general public, both national and international, that as part of the implementation of their joint work plan with the ALPICAM-GRUMCAM Group, from 24 to 26 July 2026, his Ministry successfully carried out a crackdown operation in the Boumba and Ngoko Division, East Region, in FMU 10 026 and its neighbouring areas, with the assistance of the Yokadouma Gendarmerie Company. The operation resulted in the arrest of three poachers, who were brought before the Public Prosecutor of Yokadouma; the seizure and reintroduction into their natural habitats of two pangolins and a dwarf crocodile – all Class A fully protected animal species; the seizure of 200 kg of smoked animal carcasses of various species intended for illegal trade, the seizure of four (4) locally-made hunting weapons and ammunition, as well as a motorbike. Moreover, six (6) poachers’ camps were destroyed.
In this regard, he wishes, on the one hand, to commend the fruitful collaboration between his Ministry, the Defence and Security Forces and some forestry companies in the fight against wildlife crime and illegal logging, and, on the other hand, to urge all forest concession holders to follow this example. He uses this opportunity to remind them of their obligations regarding the monitoring of their concessions, in order to preserve our country’s exceptional biodiversity and enable him to fulfil the international commitments taken by the President of the Republic, Head of State.

Le Ministre des Forêts et de la Faune, Jules Doret NDONGO, informe l'opinion publique nationale et internationale que dans le cadre de la mise en œuvre de leur plan conjoint de travail avec le Groupe ALPICAM-GRUMCAM, ses Services dans le Département de la Boumba et Ngoko, Région de l'Est ont mené avec succès, du 24 au 26 juillet 2026, une opération coups de poing dans l'UFA 10 026 et sa périphérie, avec le concours de la Compagnie de Gendarmerie de Yokadouma. Ladite opération s'est soldée par l'interpellation de 03 braconniers qui ont été présentés devant le Procureur de la République de Yokadouma, la saisie et réintroduction dans leurs habitats naturels de 02 pangolins et d'un crocodile nain, espèces animales intégralement protégées de la classe A, la saisie de 200 Kg de dépouilles animales fumées d'espèces diverses destinées au commerce illégal, la saisie de quatre (04) armes de chasse de fabrication artisanale et de munitions ainsi que celle d'une motocyclette. Par ailleurs, six (06) campements de braconniers ont été détruits.
