Who is an Ex-Serviceman?
Any Cameroonian citizen, having served either in the national armed forces or in foreign forces on account of the pre-independence institutions, or having served within a multinational force or mission under the aegis of an international organisation,
Any retired officer of the National Gendarmerie, the Army, with the exception of those struck off the roll, or sent on automatic retirement for breach of honour or for disciplinary reasons,
Any Cameroonian citizen who has served in the National Civic Guard and who has not been struck off.
Who is a War Victim?
Any military officer or civilian who, having been involved in an armed conflict, suffered physical, mental or moral injury due to the conflict, or a mission under the aegis of an international organisation
Note: the provisions of this article shall extend to their successors (see Decree No. 387/2012 of 14 September 2012 on the organisation and functioning of the SED/CACVG)

PROSPECTS
On 20 may 2022, which was day of the celebration of the 50th Unity dair anniversary, was highlighted by the parade of ex-servicemen with their new uniform.
During 2023, the Secretariat of State to the Defense in Charge of Ex-Servicemen and War Victims is seeking to involve both military personnel and gendarmes who are in the retiring process in the various training sessions, in order to turn them into genuine wealth creators once they bid farewell to storms.
