The Governor, Senior Divisional Officers, Judicial Authorities, The Divisional Officer, Law Enforcement Authorities, Authorities of Devolved Government Services, in your respective capacities Your Majesties, Ladies and Gentlemen,
At the end of this working session, I want to thank you for your kind attention and valuable contributions. Not only will these enrich Government’s policy on the fight against the cultivation, marketing and consumption of cannabis which is being developed, they will mostly empower relevant authorities to convey Government’s position and punish all cannabis-related activities.
The Prime Minister, Head of Government, instructed us to convey his instructions as follows:
> Divisional Authorities: > - Hold similar working sessions in all the Divisions and Sub-Divisions of the Region in order to pass on this warning message from the Government; > - Summit a summary report of the said working sessions to the Governor, for onward transmission to the PM/HG, with the mapping of cannabis-production areas and the statistics relating to seized cannabis in the Region;
> Judicial Authorities: it is requested of you to severely punish every act related to the cultivation, marketing and consumption of cannabis;
> Forces of Law and Order: intensify the fight and crackdown of every cannabis-related activity;
> Traditional rulers and opinion leaders: they should each continue sensitizing the local population on the disadvantages of cultivating, marketing and consuming cannabis.
