To temporarily suspend some Community Forests.
# THE MINISTER OF FORESTRY AND WILDLIFE,
Mindful of the Constitution;
Mindful of Law No. 94/01 of 20 January 1994 to lay down Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries Regulations;
Mindful of Decree No. 95/53 1/PM of 23 August 1995 to lay down conditions for the enforcement of Forest Regulations;
Mindful of Decree No. 2005/099 of 6 April 2005 to organise the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife, as amended and supplemented by Decree No. 2005/495 of 31 December 2005;
Mindful of Decree No. 20i i/408 of 9 December 2011 to organise the Government, as amended and supplemented by Decree No. 2018/190 of 2 March2018;
Mindful of Decree No. 2018/91 of 2 March 2018 to re-organise the Government;
Mindful of the litigations pending against Community Forests of GICs NUTO-WENA, GAJERMA, and AGGEME.
# HEREBY DECIDES AS FOLLOWS:
Article The Community Forests listed below, are with effect from the date of signature of this Decision, suspended as a safeguard measure, for 3 (three) months, renewable. These include:
Community Forest No. 747, allocated to GIC NUTO-WENA, located in Betare-Oya Subdivision, Lom and Djerem Division, East Region, for "forging documents issued by the Administration in charge of Forestry”; The Community Forest allocated to GIC GAJERMA, located in Eseka Subdivision, Nyong and Kelle Division, Centre Region, for "not complying with technical logging standards"; The Community Forest allocated to GIC AGEME, located in Nanga Eboko Subdivision, Hopper Sanaga Division, East Region, for "not complying with specifications terms";
Article 2: These suspensions shall entail:
A stop to activities; A stop to the issuance of secured documents as well as a suspension of signature of these documents.
ArceThe suspensins shall lifed aer th litigation pending againsttheaforementiond Community Forests must have been finally settled.
Article 4: The Director of Forestry, The Director for the Promotion and Processing of Forest Products, Regional Delegates of Forestry and Wildlife for the East and Centre, Divisional Delegates of Forestry and Wildlife for Lom and Djerem, Hopper Sanaga, as well as Nyong and Kelle, shll, each in thir respective spheres, be responsible for the enforcement of this Decision, which sha be registered
and published as and where necessary.
