The Minister of Finance hereby informs taxpayers that, effective January 1st, 2024, the date the 2024 Finance Law came into effect, the tax clearance certificate has been replaced by the tax compliance certificate.
This transition is a key element of the government's comprehensive strategy to enhance taxpayer compliance with filing and payment obligations.
Individual taxpayers, both professionals and non-professionals, are notified that, pursuant to the new provisions of the 2024 Finance Law, the tax compliance certificate is now mandatory for all visa applications submitted to diplomatic and consular missions in Cameroon.
However, this requirement does not apply to minors and students with no income, or medical evacuations.
The Minister of Finance indicates that the modalities for obtaining the tax clearance certificate have been eased. This document can be generated on one-click via the website of the Directorate General of Taxation.
To ensure the smooth implementation of this reform, taxpayers are reminded that they may obtain all necessary support by calling the number 8200.
Furthermore, specialized training courses will be conducted for diplomatic and consular missions to familiarize them with the new requirements.
