ARTICLE 2.- (1) During this school year, teaching/learning activities shall be organised face-to-face and/or distance learning.
(2) Face-to-face teaching/learning activities are those organised in Primary Schools, Colleges and High Schools for learners of a homogeneous or heterogeneous pedagogical level, as the case may be.
(3) Distance teaching/learning activities shall be carried out according to the following modalities:
- teaching/learning activities through the internet or local area network;
- teaching/learning activities through the radio;
- teaching/learning activities through the television;
- teaching/learning activities through autodidactic learning booklets (in print or digital format), for pupils in disadvantaged areas.
CHAPTER II BREAKDOWN OF THE SCHOOL YEAR
ARTICLE 3.- (1) The afore-mentioned school year shall be subdivided into terms.
(2) The terms mentioned above in article 3 (1) shall be interspersed by two breaks of two (2) weeks each.
ARTICLE 4.- (1) The periods of interruption of classes shall be defined as follow:
- First interruption: from Friday, December 18, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. to Monday, January 4, 2027, at 7:30 a.m.;
- Second interruption: from Thursday, March 25, 2027, at 3:30 p.m. to Monday, April 12, 2027, at 7:30 a.m.
(2) Holidays for boarding school students shall end on the eve of the start of the school year, before 6 p.m.
ARTICLE 5. - (1) Official Exams and Competitive Examinations shall be conducted as follows:
- From Monday, May 10, to Friday, July 30, 2027, for Basic Education;
- From Monday, April 19, to Friday, July 30, 2027, for secondary schools.
(2) Dates for these examinations shall be made public to the Educational Community by specific decisions signed by the Minister of Basic Education and the Minister of Secondary Education, each in their respective area of competence.

CHAPTER III PEDAGOGICAL ORGANISATION
SECTION 1 MANAGEMENT OF SCHOOL TIME
ARTICLE 6.- (1) In Nursery schools and community Pre-School centers, the time allocated for activities is thirty (30) hours per week, divided equally between daily routines and introductory activities, for an annual total of seven hundred twenty (720) hours.
(2) In practicing primary schools and regular primary schools, teaching and learning activities are organised around an annual total of one thousand one hundred and sixty-one (1,161) hours, consisting of eight hundred and forty (840) hours of systematic teaching, two hundred and forty (240) hours of initiation to the integration of resources and the assessment of skills, and eighty-one (81) hours of breaks.
(3) The weekly hour quota is set at 32 hours and 15 minutes for full-time schools; part-time schools cover nine hundred and eighty-one (981) hours per year, with twenty-six (26) hours per week.
ARTICLE 7.- (1) In Nursery school, activities begin at 7:30 a.m. and end at 1:30 p.m., for a total of six (6) hours of daily activities.
(2) In primary school, for full-time classes, school begins at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m., with a break from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. and another break from 12:00 to 12:30 p.m.
