# The Double Multilateral and Bilateral Diplomatic Success of President BIYA in New York ...
Martin BELINGA EBOUTOU
Director of the Civil Cabinet of the Presidency of the Republic
No need to exaggerate, the evidence is obvious and the facts speak for themselves. They testify to the richness of the recent visit of the Head of State to New York, the headquarters of the United Nations, the symbolic place where the coexistence of humanity is conceived.
In five days, the Head of State has been able to showcase to the world his high leadership skills as the wise man of Africa through his statements on the major issues of our time. Through him, the voice of Cameroon echoed with pride, faith and commitment.
At the UN General Assembly, President Paul BIYA, with confidence and transcendence, spoke to the entire planet about Cameroon's vision for building a better world.
The shared challenges of the inhabitants of the planet confirm the common destiny of humanity. President Paul BIYA deduced, for all, an obligation of solidarity between peoples. The different programmes thus proposed are sources of hope in the world. Hence for the Head of State it is an obligation to promote human progress in all things.
It was a propitious occasion for meetings and high-level exchanges with other leaders from various backgrounds.
The attentive ear lent to Cameroon, particularly in this exclusive community, through the rostrum mounted by President Paul BIYA, illustrates and demonstrates the vitality of Cameroon's diplomacy.
The occasion was also a triune:
- There was, of course, the 71st session of the UN General Assembly, with the main issue being the General Debates on the Sustainable Development Goals. It was occasion for Paul BIYA to share with other leaders his vision of a world free of extreme poverty and terrorism, a world built thanks to the will of men and women of action, who keep their commitments, all their commitments, to serve the common destiny of humanity;
