Communiqué du Bâtonnier de l'Ordre des Avocats au Barreau du Cameroun aux candidats à l'examen d'entrée au Barreau (Bar I)

Le Bâtonnier de l'Ordre des Avocats au Barreau du Cameroun informe les candidats à l'examen d'entrée au Barreau (Bar I) des modalités d'inscription. Les frais d'examen sont fixés à 50 000 FCFA, à payer sur le compte de l'Ordre. Les candidats doivent fournir une lettre de parrainage accompagnée de plusieurs documents, dont une attestation de non-redevance et un plan de localisation du cabinet. COMMUNIQUÉ

TO ALL CANDIDATES FOR THE BAR I (PUPILAGE ENTRANCE) EXAMINATION

The President of the Cameroon Bar Association hereby informs all prospective candidates for the Bar I (Pupilage Entrance) Examination that, following the publication of Order No. 021/DPJ/SG/MJ of February 12, 2026, by which the Minister of State, Minister of Justice and Keeper of the Seals, launched the said examination, the Bar Council convened on February 13, 2026, to deliberate on and clarify the modalities governing the application process.

After deliberations, the Bar Council resolved as follows:

1. Fees

All candidates shall pay a fee of Fifty Thousand (50,000) FCFA. This amount covers the supplementary costs related to the organization of the examination as well as the preparatory seminar to be organized by the Bar at a date to be communicated in due course.

Payment shall be made into the Bar Association's account below held with National Financial Credit (NFC) Bank S.A. or at the Bar Head-office:

A copy of the receipt evidencing payment of the said sum shall constitute a document to be included in the candidate's application file.

2. Sponsorship Letter Requirements

Each candidate shall submit a Letter of Sponsorship duly signed by the sponsor and issued on the official letterhead of the sponsoring law office The letter must bear:

  • The official stamp of the law office;
  • The sponsor's name stamp bearing the sponsor's matricule;
  • The sponsor's date of call to the Bar;
  • The sponsor's telephone number;
  • A functional email address.

The Sponsorship Letter SHALL BE ACCOMPANIED BY:

a) An Attestation of Non-Indebtedness of the sponsor issued by the Bar Treasurer. b) A Localization Plan of the law office indicating the list of ALL Advocates and Advocates-in-Training within that law office along with their respective phone numbers and functional email addresses. This document must be duly visaed by the Bar President's Representative, the Special Delegate, or the Head of the Commission established for that purpose. c) An Attestation of Existence of Chambers duly visaed by the Bar President's Representative, the Special Delegate, or the Head of the Commission established for that purpose.

3. Limitation on Sponsorship

Given that sponsorship extends from the issuance of the letter throughout training, no advocate shall sign sponsorship letters which, when combined with the number of pupil advocates already under his or her supervision, exceed three (3).

Similarly, no law firm shall issue sponsorship letters which, when combined with the number of pupil advocates already within the chambers, exceed six (6).
