APPOINTING MEMBERS TO THE TAXATION COMMISSION OF THE CAMEROON BAR ASSOCIATION

THE PRESIDENT OF THE CAMEROON BAR ASSOCIATION,

MINDFUL of Law No. 90/059 of the 19th of December, 1990 to organize Practice at the Bar;

MINDFUL of Decision N°41/DPJ/SG/MJ of 12 April 2005 on the Internal Regulations of the Cameroon Bar Association;

MINDFUL of the Proceedings of the General Assembly of the Cameroon Bar Association of 19th and 20th June 2022;

MINDFUL of the General Directives of the Bar President on the functioning of the Bar Council;

MINDFUL of the necessity of service;

DECIDES AS FOLLOWS:

Article 1: Under the supervision of the Bar President, the TAXATION Commission shall:

1. Be in charge of sensitizing Lawyers on the tax obligations related to legal practice in Cameroon.

1. Receive from Lawyers, for its consideration, all proposals for the establishment of a simplified taxation system.

1. Submit to the Bar Council, reports containing the different possible tax schemes for Lawyers, with their respective advantages and disadvantages.

1. Ensure compliance with tax regulations binding on Lawyers;

1. Ensure the collection and dissemination of information of a fiscal or related nature related to legal practice in Cameroon;

1. Provide technical support at the request of the Bar President to lawyers experiencing problems with the tax authorities;

1. Assist the Bar President in all initiatives and strategies aimed at restoring, consolidating or protecting the sphere of intervention of lawyers in matters of legal assistance and representation of taxpayers before the competent administrative and judicial authorities;

1. Analyze and submit to the Bar President, all proposals and contributions from Lawyers that seek to facilitate the tax obligations of Lawyers in particular and enhance the relationship with tax authorities in general;

1. Assist the Bar President in the development, evaluation, implementation and follow-up of judicial or extra-judicial proceedings in tax and tax-related matters;

1. Issue an opinion and table recommendations on all matters with fiscal or related implications that are submitted to it by the Bar President;

1. Prepare and submit to the Bar President, biannually, a report on its activities.

Article 2: As from the date of this Decision, the following Lawyers are appointed to the Tax Commission of the Cameroon Bar Association:
