The Minister of External Relations deeply regrets to inform the death of H.E. Jean-Pierre BIYITI bi ESSAM, Former Ambassador of Cameroon in Tel Aviv - Israël, who died on 23 April 2026 in Israël after an illness. The funeral is scheduled for 2 to 4 July 2026 in Yaounde and in Mvoula via Ebolowa.
The funeral program shall unfold as follows: Thursday 2nd July 2026 - 14: pm: Removal of the corpse at the Yaounde General Hospital; - 19: 30 pm: Vigil Service at Saint Achille Kiwanuka Catholic Parish in the Mendong neighbourhood;
Friday 3rd July 2026 - 10:00 am: Diplomatic tributes in the Ministry of External Relations; - 11:00 am: Departure for Mvoula, South Region; - 08:00 pm: Church service and major vigil until dawn.
Saturday 4th July 2026: CETIC of Mvoula - 08 am: Seating of constituted bodies, associations and guests; - 08:30 am: Arrival and seating of officials; - 09:am: Traditional ceremony; - 10:am: Testimonials; - 11:30 am: Internment under strict family intimacy; - 12:00 am -14:00 pm: Refreshment.
Furthermore, with specific regard to the diplomatic tributes which shall hold at the Ministry, all staff members are requested to clad in dark attire. They are also commended to actively participate in the various phases of the funeral ceremonies.
