Over the ages, years, weeks and days, justice all over the world has always been despised by the people. It has continuously been subject of harsh judgments, more often based on prejudices of the very ones it is supposed to defend and why not protect. This very gloomy image ended up making justice a sort of pariah of public administration and even of private administration in the world.
In Cameroon, justice is still criticized by most if not all of society. In fact, what appears more like prejudices and grievances against this institution is amplified beyond proportions. It suffices to read online or printpress, to follow audio-visual media and to listen to conversations in the streets or in homes, to list all the unflattering and degrading qualifiers that are attributed to justice. We can therefore understand why there are still many Cameroonians who do not believe in the justice system of their country.
However, the government of Cameroon, under the impetus of the President of the Republic, His Excellency Paul BIYA, has for the past years undertaken to restore the good image of justice, guarantor of all legitimacy and especially of social equity.
This is an oble enterprise we have believed in and for which we have been working since our arrival at the helm of the Ministry of Justice on the 9th of December 2011.
