Décret n°2025/040 du 12 février 2025 portant retrait du Permis Minier n°33, valable pour l'exploitation du cobalt, du nickel et substances connexes, délivré à la société GEOVIC Cameroon S.A.

REPUBLIC OF CAMEROON EACE – WORK – FATHERLAND

DECREE NO. 2025/040 OF 12 FEV 2025 to withdraw Mining Permit No. 33, valid for the mining of cobalt, nickel and related substances, issued by Decree No. 2003/077 of 11 April 2003 to the company “GEOVIC Cameroon S.A”.

THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC,

Mindful of the Constitution;

Mindful of Ordinance No. 74/2 of 6 July 1974 to lay down the rules governing State lands;

Mindful of Law No. 96/012 of 5 August 1996: framework law relating to environmental management;

Mindful of Law No. 2023/014 of 19 December 2023 relating to the Mining Code (Section 170);

Mindful of Decree No. 2024/05061/PM of 18 November 2024 to lay down the conditions for issuing mining titles and mining licences and permits (Article 101),

HEREBY DECREES AS FOLLOWS:

ARTICLE 1: Mining Permit No. 33, valid for the mining of cobalt, nickel and related substances, issued by Decree No. 2003/077 of 11 April 2003 to the company, GEOVIC Cameroon S.A., P.O. Box 5839 Douala, is withdrawn for non-implementation of the works schedule.

ARTICLE 2: The perimeter covered by Mining Permit No. 33 shall revert to the national mining property.

ARTICLE 3: This decree shall be registered, published according to the procedure of urgency and inserted in the Official Gazette in English and in French.
