THE PRIME MINISTER, HEAD OF GOVERNMENT,
Mindful of the Constitution;
Mindful of Law No. 98/004 of 14 April 1998 on the orientation of education in Cameroon;
Mindful of Law No. 2018/012 of 11 July 2018 on the financial regime of the State and other public entities;
Mindful of Law No. 2021/024 of 16 December 2021 to organise and promote the book industry in Cameroon;
Mindful of Decree No. 92/089 of 4 May 1992 to specify the powers of the Prime Minister, as amended and supplemented by Decree No. 95/145-a of 4 August 1995;
Mindful of Decree No. 2011/408 of 9 December 2011 to organise the Government, as amended and supplemented by Decree No. 2018/190 of 2 March 2018;
Mindful of Decree No. 2012/267 of 11 June 2012 to organise the Ministry of Secondary Education;
Mindful of Decree No. 2012/268 of 11 June 2012 to organise the Ministry of Basic Education;
Mindful of Decree No. 2019/001 of 4 January 2019 to appoint a Prime Minister, Head of Government;
Mindful of Decree No. 2017/11737/CAB/PM of 23 November 2017 on the establishment, organisation and functioning of the National Commission in charge of monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the national policy on text books and other didactic materials,
HEREBY DECREES AS FOLLOWS:
CHAPTER I
GENERAL PROVISIONS
ARTICLE 1.- This decree reorganises the National Commission in charge of monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the national policy on text books and other didactic materials, hereinafter referred to as “the Commission”.

ARTICLE 2.- Placed under the authority of the Prime Minister, Head of Government, the Commission shall assist the Government in monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the national policy for monitoring text books and other didactic materials.
Therefore, it shall:
- monitor and evaluate the implementation of the national policy on text books and other didactic materials throughout the country;
- ensure that the criteria for selecting, updating and distributing text books and other didactic materials are respected;
- monitor and evaluate operations, projects and programmes relating to text books and other didactic materials sector;
- ensure that text books and other didactic materials are accessible and available throughout the country;
- supervise the activities of the National Council for the Approval of Text books and Didactic Materials;
- monitor and evaluate the activities of the Education Reform Support Programme in Cameroon;
- propose any corrective measures for malfunctions encountered in the various segments of the text books and other didactic materials sector;
- carry out any other mission entrusted to it by the Prime Minister, Head of Government.
